How Many Players Can Play How to Fish?

The official Steam listing and Dazed Games site describe How to Fish as a one-to-four-player game: you can play alone or use online co-op with up to three friends. ^{[01] [02]}

There is no local split-screen mode documented on the official store page. Each online player should use their own Steam copy and join through Steam's multiplayer flow.

Community guides and mods may show larger lobbies. Treat those separately from the official specification: modded capacity can change after a patch and may introduce joining, sync, or save problems. Nexus currently lists lobby-expansion mods, but installing one does not change the supported player count on the official page. ^[03]
