Cookie Policy
how-to-fish.net remembers privacy choices locally. Public pages load the Google tag library, but analytics measurement and advertising require consent.
Consent preference
The first-party local-storage key how-to-fish-consent-v2 records one of four granular choices: none, analytics, advertising, or all. It is necessary to remember and apply the visitor's separate optional-service choices. The earlier bundled key is ignored so an old analytics acceptance cannot authorize advertising. The current choice remains in that browser until it is changed or local storage is cleared.
Saved private feedback links
After a feedback ticket is created, the first-party local-storage key how-to-fish-feedback-tickets:v1 can store the ticket ID, complete private fragment link, subject, and local timestamps for the My feedback area. It is not sent to the server to list tickets. Remove an entry from My feedback or clear browser storage to delete the local copy; a lost private link cannot be recovered.
Analytics cookies
Public pages download the Google tag library before a choice is made. This download exposes ordinary connection metadata, such as IP address and browser headers, to Google. Analytics measurement remains disabled until consent. Only after the visitor enables Analytics and saves the choice may Google Analytics 4 measurement ID G-RKHYRN3KM0 create cookies such as _ga and property-specific _ga_* cookies. The site configures analytics cookies with a maximum expiry of 90 days. Google may update technical details about the cookies it uses.
Advertising cookies and storage
Only after the visitor enables Advertising and saves the choice may the site request advertising scripts. Adsterra Native Banner remains available on its configured placements. If Google AdSense is configured, its loader is limited to reviewed content routes and stays off the home page, search, contact, policy pages, private feedback, and excluded content routes. Adsterra, Google AdSense, and their advertising partners may then use cookies, local storage, advertising identifiers, or similar technologies to deliver, measure, secure, limit, and personalize advertising under their terms. Exact names and retention periods can vary by provider and partner.
Visitors in the European Economic Area, United Kingdom, or Switzerland may also see a Google-certified consent message supplied through AdSense Privacy & messaging. Its choices are separate from the first-party key described above and are used for Google's regional advertising requirements.
Managing choices
Selecting Reject all disables Google Analytics measurement and prevents Adsterra and Google AdSense from loading through this site. The Google tag library remains loaded on public pages, with analytics event sending and cookies disabled. Selecting Accept all enables the configured optional services, subject to route restrictions and any additional Google-certified consent message. Manage choices provides separate Analytics and Advertising controls when needed, and Privacy choices in the footer reopens the panel at any time. Withdrawing analytics stops subsequent analytics measurement and removes accessible _ga and _ga_* cookies. Withdrawing advertising removes the current Adsterra slot and prevents future advertising-loader requests. Browser settings can block or delete remaining third-party cookies and local storage.
